| Summary: | The sound memory that protects the Musical Historical Archive of the El Sagrario Tulancingo Parish, comprises two sections: Sacra (authors, books and printed matter) and Secular (opera, popular and printed). The musical documents belong to Independent Mexico, a period little studied in the history of music. Previously, it was unknown that the Choir of the Metropolitan Cathedral of Tulancingo and the archive of its archdiocese sheltered both Mexican and foreign music. Among their documents there are extraordinary pieces by some composers who bequeathed their works for posterity, for example: of the teacher José Antonio Gómez y Olguín. |
